Day 27: Armed for Battle Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ephesians 6:16, 17 The shield was used to protect the heart; the helmet was to protect the head. So must you protect your heart and mind against negativism, pessimism, evil thoughts and hate. Take the sword of God’s word and put to flight wrong thinking and wrongdoing.
